A few weeks ago I posted a picture on Instagram and asked them to make a meme out of it. The clip is from the show The Office. Here are the wonderful results. I ❤️ memes.
That moment when you think you are fat, then you realize all the elastics have stretched out in your underwear
So while searching the internet about Tornadoes I came across an article about myths of things to do in protecting yourself from tornadoes. One of them being is opening your windows to equalize pressure. Apparently this is a myth. And now that I read about it, I feel stupid for even believing it. Reason being its a myth? Because its a TORNADO, If its crossing your path, its going to send debris through your house no matter what. Plus you are wasting time and could put yourself in danger if you go to open a window when there is a warning.
Why did I not think of this before?
Another myth that I know I was taught in school is about how the southwest corner of the basement is the safest place during a tornado. Again, when you think about it, it totally makes sense that it is a myth. Its a Tornado, no matter which way it comes from its going to through debris anywhere.
Here are the articles I found.
On a completely side note of crappy information, I found this one site that said to stay in your car. This I know is not a fact. DO NOT EVER stay in your car during a tornado.
Moral of this story: Question everything and do your own research!
Do you know the playground game I am referring to? I know it as King’s Court, but some know it as Foursquare. Foursquare name really gives away the playing court. It is a square that is divided into 4. From there Number 4 (or the King as I know it) serves the ball and the others have to hit it if the ball lands your square and send it to another square.
My school yard had painted squares to play in. I do remember fondly playing it. Though I have to say I haven’t played since Grade 3 I think. (Some 20 years ago). I bring this up because I played yesterday. And the ones I played with, haven’t played in that long as well. It was quite the fun adventure.
Now the one point I want to drive home, is having fun. No matter what, have fun no matter how old you are. May be its good to shed what we look on the outside and play those games that reflect our inside once in awhile. There are some many childhood games I remember playing, yet I cannot remember the name for the life of me.
Now I turn this to you. What childhood games did you enjoy? Have you played any recently?
So apparently the world has slowly been conditioning me to want to watch doctor who. I was reading my copy of ” Who Ology: BBC Doctor Who, The Official Miscellany” and came across the section where Doctor who has been mentioned or shown in other shows. And low and behold, a Tiny Toon Adventure episode apparently has the TARDIS sitting with other space craft. I couldn’t find a video but I was able to find a tumblr post with it.
Besides Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, that was the only show that I know of that was secretly conditioning my brain for the awesome Sci-Fi that I currently enjoy.
Another mind blown, say what moment 😉
On the way home yesterday on the train, my co worker and I were talking about eating bugs and the delicacy around it. I have to admit I think I might try grasshoppers one day.
The conversation rolled to worms, meal worms then finally snakes. Then the conversation went something like this:
Co-Worker: So they are not insects but apparently snakes taste good.
Me: I could believe that but I just hope that the snake has digested all its food before it got cooked.
Co-worker: Yea you might get a two for one deal with a rat.
Me (Giggling): Yea you could get … Snurducken.
I am amused 🙂 .
