Quinoa – KD Style

Time for a post about food. Here is my recipe for Quinoa. Feel free to comment if you have suggestions or something you do differently. I will post a picture of what my Quinoa looks like next time I actually cook it ūüôā

Quinoa – KD Style

1 cup quinoa (I prefer pre-soaked)
2 cup water
1 bouillon cube (chicken or veg)
1 smaller yam (about 1-1&1/2 cups chopped)
Cauliflower – about 1/2-3/4 cup
A few stocks green onion
Cilantro – how much you like
Dried cranberries – how much you like
About a tsp of curry
Tsp of honey
Tsp of lemon juice
A shot of coconut water

Put water in the pot along with boullion cube. Boil.
Chop yam and cauliflower into bite size peices.  Put in pot when water boils. Keep at medium high to high to reboil.
When water is boiled put quinoa, green onion and cilantro.  Cook medium until water is soaked in to quinoa.
Take off heat.
Mix honey, lemon juice, curry and coconut water together in separate dish.
When thoroughly mixed pour over quinoa.  Toss quinoa.

I like to add the cranberries when the quinoa has cooled off

Grown Up

Grown Up

What is the definition of grown up? Okay I know you can go look that up in the dictionary and tell me :).

But on the note of what it means today, is different to all different people. To some it means having a stable¬†job, to others it’s getting married and having kids, or about hitting a certain age or maybe its about being serious all the time.

To me it means being reasonable and mature when you make decisions, to know that you still need to rely on others and to be there for others, to not take life too seriously but still be serious when the time calls for it, to endure, have integrity, to pick yourself when you do¬†fall, to not¬†to blame others when things go wrong, to not make excuses when you can’t stay¬†in contact with someone, to be honest,¬†to show love¬†towards all,¬†and when drama happens (because we¬†all know its gonna happen)¬†to do your best to reduce the stress and not take it in personally.

This post started with just wanting to post one of my fav cartoons (which is actually many) and turned into something deeper. I love my randomness. ūüôā

Gone around the Bend

Welcome to my first post as a blogger. Trying something new to express things in my brain. One of my favourite movies is Alice in Wonderland (from 2010), and in that movie is one of my favourite quotes.

Alice Kingsley: Do you think I’ve gone ’round the bend?

Charles Kingsleigh: I’m afraid so… you’re mad. Bonkers. Off your head… but I’ll tell you a secret… all of the best people are.

I dedicate this blog to the days you (and¬†I)¬†feel a little bonkers, or just want to get the stuff out of¬†my head so I don’t have to go off with my head.
